Faisal Alimohd

Co-founder, CFO

Faisal, is an entrepreneur, proud husband and father to two energetic children. He is a Chartered Accountant/Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor with over 20 years of varied business experience. Faisal is Fueling Brains Academy’s Co-Founder, Chief Financial Officer and Operations Director. Faisal graduated from the Haskayne School of Business and worked within and managed his own accounting firm before moving his experience into the child care industry.

Lois Garcia

Vice President, Operations

Lois Garcia brings a wealth of experience spanning over a decade in the Education Industry. With a background as a former Montessori Head of School and Regional Director of Operations in Early Childhood, she has also excelled as a School Operator and Curriculum Specialist. Notably, Lois has served as a VP of Operations, overseeing educational districts across Texas, California, Florida, and Arizona. Hailing originally from Puerto Rico, Lois embodies a lifelong commitment to community service. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she stems from a lineage of educators and channels her passion into her role as a bilingual leader. A Texas A&M graduate with a BS in Biomedical Science, Lois’s academic journey steered her towards research that supports social justice initiatives. Her extensive experience spans Early Childhood through Secondary and Post-Secondary Education. She has a wealth of experience in successfully starting schools and school programs across the United States. Proficient in daily operations, licensing, curriculum development, and accreditation processes, Lois’s accolades underscore her prowess in enrollment, turnaround endeavors, leadership, sales, and customer service. 

Emily Fullmer

Emily brings over 15 years of expertise in early childhood intervention to our team, complemented by an academic background in Psychology at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Her approach is guided by evidence-based practices, placing significant emphasis on nurturing positive teacher-child relationships to enhance children’s development and learning outcomes. Driven by her dedication to inclusivity, Emily led the development of FBA Education Services, laying the groundwork for the organization’s accreditation by Alberta Education as an ECE provider. Now, as the Director of Student Services, she pioneers innovative programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of FBA students, extending her influence beyond program development to uplifting and empowering staff, optimizing classrooms, refining curriculum delivery, and spearheading leadership initiatives.

Kara Dafoe

Registration & Enrollment Team Lead

Starting out as FBA Strathmore’s Program Supervisor, Kara Dafoe led the campus with her highly-qualified background in early learning and childcare. She holds a diploma in Early Childhood Education from St. Clair College in Ontario. With over 10 years of experience in the child care field and a mother to two lively boys, Kara is passionate about working with children, and strives to build confidence, self-esteem, love and awareness in each child. More recently, she has taken over the role of Enrollment, securing the best care for families across Canada’s FBA campuses.

Anna Santiago

Communications Director

Anna Santiago began her career with Fueling Brains Academy in 2014, and the organization’s brain-based, child-centered philosophy made it easy for her to fulfill her role in showcasing the uniqueness of our early learning centres to Calgary parents. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, majoring in Journalism, Anna worked as a sports writer and editor before switching to the field of early learning as Fueling Brains Academy’s Communications Director. Anna’s reason for choosing the field of early childhood education can be defined by a quote by Kofi Anan – “Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family.”
