Parents expect more from Calgary Preschools & Daycares than ever before, and why shouldn’t they? Thanks to technology, we have a world of information at our fingertips, more resources and more opportunities to change the face of what an education looks like for future generations.

Today’s parents are more fluent in technology than ever before. As we look to our computers and cell phones to help us analyze all aspects of our lives, it makes sense that we would also be able to look at education in the same way.

When the world was put on hold for a few years due to Covid, it put focus on an emerging problem with young children – brain development gaps. It was quickly realized that without regular daily interactions in social settings like daycares, pre-schools and grade schools, many children were left without having developmental access to other children and stimulating learning environments, both of which were reasons why brain development gaps were emerging. The need for education to start earlier also became apparent, “80 percent of a student’s brain is formed by age three, and ninety percent by age five” according to a Harvard University Research Study, which means that the traditional education system was also missing the mark in how it prepared young children for their future education. These facts led to a new way of thinking about early education – we should be teaching children how to learn before what to learn.
