Stay tuned. New campus coming soon - Downtown Calgary!

Parents expect more from Calgary Preschools & Daycares than ever before, and why shouldn’t they? Thanks to technology, we have a world of information at our fingertips, more resources and more opportunities to change the face of what an education looks like for future generations.

Today’s parents are more fluent in technology than ever before. As we look to our computers and cell phones to help us analyze all aspects of our lives, it makes sense that we would also be able to look at education in the same way.

When the world was put on hold for a few years due to Covid, it put focus on an emerging problem with young children – brain development gaps. It was quickly realized that without regular daily interactions in social settings like daycares, pre-schools and grade schools, many children were left without having developmental access to other children and stimulating learning environments, both of which were reasons why brain development gaps were emerging. The need for education to start earlier also became apparent, “80 percent of a student’s brain is formed by age three, and ninety percent by age five” according to a Harvard University Research Study, which means that the traditional education system was also missing the mark in how it prepared young children for their future education. These facts led to a new way of thinking about early education – we should be teaching children how to learn before what to learn.

Teacher showcasing early education technology in Fueling Brains Academy Calgary

Thanks to the pioneering efforts of the Calgary-based Preschool and Daycare, Fueling Brains Academy, and its sibling ed-tech company Fueling Brains, the future of early learning with this approach in mind is taking shape. Fueling Brains Academies are the first Preschools and Daycares in Canada to introduce the Fueling Brain’s Learning System – an online educational development platform and curriculum, already proven in multiple school districts in the USA. The System tests, tracks, measures, and accelerates executive function growth and whole-brain development areas of students.

“Our research shows that by implementing the Fueling Brains learning system and using our software to reliably track students’ brain development, educators can work with students, building up their executive function skills, allowing them to become better learners,” says Dr. Anil Karim, CEO. “We know that each student we work with has the potential to become a lifelong learner and joyful adult who contributes meaningfully to their community.” ~ Anil Karim, CEO Fueling Brains

Further insights into the transformative impact and detailed implementation strategies of the Fueling Brains learning system can be explored in features by Education Technology Insights and its specific emphasis on redefining education through accelerated brain development, highlighting the critical acclaim and innovative approaches that set Fueling Brains apart in the educational technology space.

The platform provides educators with the ability to easily evaluate students’ executive function performance through a scientifically validated 48-point assessment, allowing educators to positively influence academic achievement.

“As a Fueling Brains Instructional Coach, it is the best tool in my belt to support teachers with planning deep intentions into their lessons, routines and environments. I can literally sit with a teacher and review data and help them to discover how to best support each of their students, whether they are struggling with a skill, or excelling and needing to be academically challenged.” ~ Trisha Skinner, Fueling Brains Instructional Coach

The Fueling Brains technology platform and learning system also shares with Parents tracked data specific to their child’s development, allows them the opportunity to communicate with teachers, and gives access to relevant brain development activities. By introducing brain development activities to both Educators and Parents, we create a 360 degree-learning environment, (at school and at home) giving children the best possible start to an early education.

“I’ve now experienced this process for 2 years and witnessed the exceptional leaps in development that our students have made- because the teachers are getting data in real time and can adjust practices accordingly. The application shows all the hard work put in by the student, the teacher and the family and sets the trajectory of learning for each child. The parent portal feature of our application also allows parents to be directly involved, with resources and activities at their fingertips. There’s nothing quite like it, but I can’t imagine working any other way now.” ~ Trisha Skinner, Fueling Brains Instructional Coach
