Preschool

Fueling Brains Academy’s Preschool program is offered at multiple locations throughout Calgary, Strathmore and Saskatoon. Unlike most preschool programs, ours are not based on the child’s age but their stage of development. Children from 3 to 6 years old can retain extensive information at our Calgary preschools and are beginning to truly understand early numeracy, literacy, and science concepts.

What Do We Teach at Fueling Brains Academy Preschool in Calgary, Strathmore and Saskatoon?

Our Montessori-based Left Brain curriculum uses materials and activities to teach our children these mathematics, science, reading, writing, and comprehension skills while teaching them practical life skills at the same time.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia teaching philosophy, our students experience play-based learning through our Right Brain curriculum, where their creativity and individuality take center stage. Exploration and discovery are encouraged and supported in this enriching environment.

Preschoolers benefit from Fueling Brains Academy’s Movement program through its unique blend of right brain and left brain values and a traditional gym setting. While the children have fun and are active, they build healthy bodies and brains.

End Goals for the Preschool Program in Calgary

  • To provide a well-balanced curriculum with equal emphasis on play and learning
  • To build healthy bodies and minds
  • To instill positive behaviours in children
  • To prepare children socially and emotionally for life ahead
  • To provide ample opportunities to play and learn in stimulating environments

Scheduling

Our preschool and kindergarten programs play an integral role in developing the child’s independence and sense of responsibility.

During these developmental years, children begin to transition from being nappers to becoming non-nappers. Our classrooms accommodate both of these stages by providing separate rooms and individual schedules for each child.

Fueling Brains Academy offers three time options for you to choose from to accommodate the weekly schedule you desire for child care.

  • Preschool Only hours (8:30 am to 3:00 pm) afford the children the most exposure to our extensive curriculum. This schedule is available two, three, and five days a week for your convenience. Based on the availability of space at each site, you are able to choose your desired days.
  • Preschool and Care hours (7:00 am to 5:30 pm at our Calgary schools and 6:30 am to 6:00 pm at our Strathmore location) give you the flexibility for full day care as well as benefiting from the extra programming that support our core curriculum hours. This schedule is available for two, three or five days a week for your convenience. You are able to choose your days based on the space availability at your desired location.
  • Half Day Preschool (8:30 am to 11:30 am or 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm) is available to preschoolers and kindergarteners only. In order to ensure children receive the same quality of education, this schedule is available five days a week only. The Fueling Brains Academy curriculum requires a minimum 12-15 hours per week in the classroom for full educational benefits.
