Large Outdoor Playground
Our outdoor playground features an ample amount of green space, with plenty of room for children to roam, explore and be active. Here you will find natural wood beams, tree stumps, a stage for dramatic play, and Montessori-inspired gardens to aid the children’s learning as they play!
Indoor Gym Area
For those days of the year when it’s too cold to go outside, we have a spacious indoor gym in which our qualified physical education teachers teach our Movement program! The children can develop an active and healthy lifestyle using mini basketball nets, running through obstacle courses, and building giant forts. Even the infants get their own dedicated movement space!
Distinct Curriculum Rooms
Our McKnight location has two rooms for our Right Brain program, as well as a large gym for our movement program. Our Left Brain room features many different practical life stations, such as a pint-sized working kitchen and a construction area!
Diverse Toddler Classrooms
Our toddlers enjoy specifically designed rooms for our Right Brain and Left programs, with a distinct drop-off for parents. Here they have their own separate space for sensorial activities, free play, and music!

Campus Leadership
Ms. Beenum Junaid
Director - Infant/Junior Preschool
Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, Beenum Junaid graduated from post-secondary with a Bachelor’s degree in Science. She then started her ECE journey as a Montessori Assistant Teacher after moving to Calgary in 2012. Since then, her passion for Montessori education grew stronger, prompting her to obtain a Montessori Diploma in 2017 and then Early Childhood Development Diploma in 2020. With a decade of experience in the Early Childhood Education field, Beenum has become a valued member of the Fueling Brains Academy family, first as a Lead Teacher in the Senior Preschool Left Brain classroom, then moving on to a leadership position as the Junior Preschool Centre Director at our McKnight campus. When she is not actively facilitating the learning of her beloved students, Beenum enjoys painting in her spare time, and spending quality time with her three children.
Ms. Chloe Hathaway
Director - Preschool
In her own words, Chloe Hathaway has a “deep passion for supporting children’s individual emotional developmental needs, and value equipping children with tangible mindfulness tools to aid them in life.” A mother of two, and with over 10 years experience working with children in an assortment of ages and settings, Chloe brought her energetic and warm personality and love for early childhood development to her role as Centre Director on the Senior Preschool side at FBA New Brighton for the past 3 years, and is making the transition into the same role as Centre Director at FBA McKnight.
Ms. Fatima Zehra
Program Coordinator
Fatima Zehra has been an integral part of the Fueling Brains Academy family in different capacities, for almost a decade. Fatima has a Masters in International Relations from The University of Karachi & a Child Development Assistant Level 1 Certificate. Starting in 2014, Fatima has been a constant loving and welcoming presence at the McKnight campus, giving both the students and parents the best experience possible, from drop-offs to pick-ups, to everything in between. After a short hiatus, Fatima returned to FBA McKnight as the Program Coordinator.
