Diverse Curriculum Classrooms
Each of our three classroom spaces is tailored to bring out the various aspects of Fueling Brains Academy’s diverse curriculum. From our Left Brain classroom, which teaches children life skills through a prepared environment, to our Right Brain classroom, which allows children to embrace their creativity, to our Movement room, where children learn everything they need to know to lead a healthy and active lifestyle, the whole child is developed on a daily basis at Fueling Brains Academy Walden.
Partnership For All Ages
The second of our centres to partner with Age Care, our Walden location offers the unique opportunity for young and old to learn from one another. Through simple activities and time together, Fueling Brains Academy students and residents of the Walden Heights Seniors Community work (and play!) together to develop skills and build lasting memories
Water Exploration and Learning
Fueling Brains Academy Walden’s Right Brain classroom offers a brand-new water play area, which fits right in with the Reggio Emilia-inspired method of learning through play. Not only is splashing around with water fun, but it builds the foundation for scientific concepts such as physics (flow and motion), chemistry, biology and even mathematics!

Ms. Fiona Cardell
Centre Director
Ms. Fiona cites her own preschool teacher for inspiring her to pursue a career in early childhood education. After obtaining a diploma in Child and Youth Care from Lethbridge College, Ms. Fiona then went on to embark on a career in the field, and now has just over six years of experience in early learning. First, in her role as Lead Teacher in the Right Brain room at FBA Braeside, to a leadership role as Centre Director at West 85th, and most recently as the Centre Director at FBA Walden. With the Walden team, Ms. Fiona continues to uphold the values she picked up from her earliest memories at preschool – building relationships with her young students and accompanying them through their path of lifelong learning.
Fueling Brains Academy Walden welcomes children 3 to 6 years of age. Our preschool programs provide a nurturing environment where children build confidence, creativity, and school readiness through brain-based learning.
Fueling Brains Academy Walden offers a brain-based curriculum with dedicated Left Brain, Right Brain, and Movement learning environments. Our research-based approach helps children develop academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
Our preschool in Walden features dedicated learning environments designed to support whole-child development. The Right Brain classroom includes a custom-built sensory water table, encouraging creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning.
Fueling Brains Academy Walden is connected to AgeCare Walden Heights, giving children opportunities to participate in multi-generational learning experiences. These interactions help children develop empathy, communication skills, and meaningful relationships with older adults.
