Alberta Kindergarten
Fueling Brains Academy’s Alberta Education Approved Kindergarten is a not-for-profit program offering on-site Kindergarten across multiple locations in Calgary that runs September to June. Our program provides a high-support, individualized learning environment designed for families seeking alternatives for the Kindergarten year, combining certificated teacher instruction with full-day Academy care.

Kindergarten Program
Our Kindergarten program is led by Alberta certificated teachers and aligns with the Alberta Education Curriculum and Program of Studies. We provide a developmentally appropriate environment that values each child’s unique strengths, experiences, and learning style. Learning is individualized, with teaching strategies tailored to each child’s current developmental level and needs, and is guided by research in early literacy, phonemic awareness, numeracy, and social-emotional development.
Children learn best through hands-on experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning, helping to build a strong foundation for future success. This final early learning year gives children the chance to strengthen foundational leadership skills, which are often less intentionally developed in programs that begin at kindergarten.
Assessment happens throughout the day in both planned and everyday ways. Teachers use what they learn to guide instruction and support each child’s learning needs. Formal assessments are completed at key points during the year, and progress is shared with families through two progress report cards and three parent-teacher meetings. Learning stories and ongoing communication help keep families informed about their child’s growth, strengths, and areas for support.
